Langlee Wave Power: the board

Bjørn Svensvik, Chairman

Bjørn brings a wealth of energy experience to Langlee Wave Power and is helping to guide the development of the company.

He has held key positions as Project Director, Engineering Manager and Contract Manager for the Norwegian industrial companies Aker and Kvaerner and has spent most of his professional career within the energy industry.

Bjørn brings expertise in strategic management, international business and contract research and he was Executive Vice President of the research organisation SINTEF, as well as holding director posts at two of its institutes. He is a Professor with Project and Contract Management at NTNU in Trondheim and sits on the board of several limited companies. Bjørn holds Dipl. Engineering and Dr. Engineering degrees from the TU Braunschweig in Germany.

Svein Nilsen, Board Member

Svein joined the board of Langlee in 2008 bringing a wealth of global business experience. 

He has been the Marketing Director with leading ventilation company Systemair since 2000. With activities in 38 countries in Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, South Africa and Australia, it employs 1,950 people. 

He was previously managing director of Pyrox Jolin from 1989 – 2000 and has a degree in Engineering from the Trondheim Institute of Technology.

Jonas Sandgren, Board Member

Jonas brought more than 25 years’ of experience from renewable energy technologies with him when he joined the board in 2011. 

He has worked in research institutes and consulting companies and has been involved in the energy industry in many different ways. 

Covering a wide spectrum of technologies in solar, bio, wind and ocean energy, he has experience in technology development and introduction, pilot project development, business development and policy work. 

Jonas is also a member of the investment sub-committee on renewable energy and adaptation to climate change at the African Enterprise Challenge Fund.
